A Guide to Getting SEND Mediation Advice and Support in Wolverhampton

If you're considering appealing a decision about Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), it's important to know you're not alone. Support is available to guide you through the process.

Get Free, Impartial Mediation Advice from us

Before moving forward with an appeal, the first thing you should do is contact a mediation advisor. This is a free and confidential service designed to help you understand your options and, where possible, resolve disagreements without going to tribunal.

Since 2014, Prime Resolution has been one of two independent mediation advisors working with Wolverhampton Local Authority.

Deciding Whether to Mediate or Appeal

After receiving mediation advice, you can choose to:

  • Try to resolve the issue informally with the Local Authority
  • Move forward with a formal appeal (to the SEND Tribunal)

If you'd like to speak directly with Wolverhampton Local Authority, here are the contact details for SENSTART (SEN Statutory Assessment and Review Team).
